Demelza Launches trail in Tunbridge Wells

Demelza launches ‘Trail with a Tale’ – a large family-friendly art trail
From July 2025, Trail with a Tale, in collaboration with Wild in Art, will see the Kent town dotted with 10 individually designed sculptures, decorated by artists, creating a journey of discovery that will be free, family-friendly and open to all.
Each large sculpture will be designed to tell a unique tale, and Demelza is delighted to be collaborating with award-winning local children’s author, Alex Brooks, who is generously giving her time pro-bono, on this project.
At the end of the initiative, four large sculptures will be auctioned to raise much-needed funds for Demelza.
Lavinia Jarrett, Chief Executive Officer at Demelza, said:
“We are delighted with the response and support that we have received from the local community to date, with ten schools signed up already. We have RTW Together BID, Kent Reliance and Esquire Developments on board as Headline Trail Sponsors, and Yeomans on board as our official print partner, alongside creative partner Catch a Fire.
This is a new direction for Demelza and we are excited to be working with Wild in Art, bringing something new and family-friendly to Tunbridge Wells. As well as raising awareness of the hospice services we offer to children with serious or life-limiting conditions in the community, this initiative will generate income to support families to celebrate the joy in life, making precious memories during challenging times.”
Alex Green, CEO of RTW Together BID commented:
“RTW Together BID is delighted to be a sponsor of Demelza’s Trail with a Tale. The BID is committed to events that increase footfall and spend in the town, and this free public walking trail will provide residents, and tourists alike, with a wonderful experience in and around the town centre of Royal Tunbridge Wells in the Summer of 2025.”
Charlie Langhorne, Managing Director and Co-founder, Wild in Art said:
“We are delighted to be teaming up with Demelza on this exciting sculpture trail. Our events are designed to bring the enjoyment of public art to everyone while offering new ways for people to explore their local area and we hope that, through the trail, we can inspire businesses, the creative sector and the wider community to come together to create something very special which will have significant impact.”
